Budding Rivalries?

Three years isn't really enough time to develop any new full fledged rivalries, but has anyone noticed some seeds getting planted? Any teams you were previously fairly indifferent towards that are now starting to get on your nerves?

I think for Georgetown the big new one is with Xavier.

Well, first and foremost it's great Nova won the championship because this will now be the team to beat next year. Not just for our schools but all schools that play them. All games with Nova next year will have be very significant.

We can now view Nova like we did Syracuse, UConn, Louisville, etc. Just they're a much more likable team than those.

I thought the Xavier-Seton Hall games were chippy but it will only be a true rivalry if SH can sustain its success from this season.

I think there might be a little something brewing between Creighton and St. John's. 2 close games the first season, a McDermott buzzer beater, SJU knocking off CU when they got to the 12 ranking. CU beating SJU to end their 9 game losing streak the second year. This year the last game between the two was a blowout where Mullin gets ejected and goes a little crazy, the end of that game got chippy with SJU intentionally fouling a walk-on and CU with the alley oop late as icing. I think SJU is going to remember that next year.

Why? The only reason Xavier didn't like Georgetown was DSR and DSR is gone now. Don't feel 1 bit of hate for Georgetown. Honestly I don't find any school in the Big East a rival for Xavier right now. A lot find Butler as one but there just hasn't been much to make me think that other than the 2010 game.

DePaul's budding new rival is St. John's. They are trying to take over our 10th spot. no no no no St. John's, that is DePaul's rightful place in the Big East.

X and Marquette for Creighton. Neither one thinks we're worthy yet, and that gives us even more incentive :D . I'd say Butler as well, similar school.

Most of them when we're playing them haha. Butler is already established, but I'm not very fond of Georgetown, Creighton or St. John's either.
