Couple things that jumped out at me:
1) Villanova and Georgetown being below DePaul.
2) PC dropping 29.4% from 2014 to 2015 with the same TV contract, ticket sales up and Kris Dunn exploding on the national radar.

I always find statistics like this interesting but they are utterly meaningless and provide ill representation of reality. Dayton is worth double Georgetown? Come on, not even the Flyer trolls believe that.

X, Marquette, St Johns. All the BE made the top 100. Also the Zags, Flyers, Billikens. Surprisingly ND comes in at No. 102; and only eval'd at $14.9M.
Both St Johns $55M (+22%) and Depaul $49.3M (+37%) made large jumps in net worth according to this report.
Order by worth ranking: Xavier, Marquette, StJ, DePaul (51), G'twn (52), Villanova (54), Prov (73), Crei (78), Seton Hall (79), & Butler (93).

With all due respect I think your eastern bias is showing. UD owns their own stadium, and has sole usage of it. Georgetown does not. UD dominates their market in all athletics, Georgetown has much competition from local pro teams and thus does not. UD tv ratings are higher. UD attendance figures are about 50% higher than Georgetown. If you were to own one of these, UD would be a very safe investment with as loyal a fan base as any team could hope for. Can Georgetown say same (I honestly ask as I don't know)
BTW a recent similar Forbes survey ranked UD much higher than 25 nationally so the WSJ is not alone in its views.
I'm not saying UD is better or more relevant but just wanted to share a viewpoint that is likely very different from your own. I'd love to have you visit UD and take in a game. You'd be very welcome.

I know this was not directed towards me... but as someone who also has a case of east coast bias, I would love to join you for a Dayton game provided you pay for airfare, lodging, and game ticket. I'll buy the beers. Just throwing it out there.

Fenway Friar, I'd love to drink your beer but I'm a PA resident thus not too close to the campus. Best I can do is buy you one, perhaps with XUDash who I've chatted with, at a future pre season tournament or heaven forbide a season game. Nothing at all wrong with being East Coast proud- you should be.

Interesting points. I wouldn't say it's an East Coast bias in this case, I'd probably say national. Georgetown is a pretty big brand name on both coasts due to Hoya Paranoia and Patrick Ewing (and the fact that it's a top academic school). Not as much as in the 80s, but you still see their hats and jackets worn by kids in random cities around the country. They were a team that resonated with the hip hop culture when hip hop was coming into it's own. Kids in Los Angeles were wearing Georgetown Starter jackets. I'd guess if you polled people around the country (outside of Ohio and maybe the Midwest) who are not hardcore basketball fans they would guess Georgetown ranks well above Dayton on this list.
However, your points are valid and I can't disagree. I was just pointing out some reasons other than an East Coast thing. Dayton has an amazing group of fans.

ChelseaFryer,
Your spot on. The Georgetown "brand" is much stronger that UD's. I'd imagine the jersey and shirt sales reflect that- I don't have those numbers. I presume branding may not always translate to franchise value - at least in the WSJ methodology ? But UD has a nice business model.

One thing to note is that the arena relationship seems to have a big effect on the value of the team. That's why the Cowboys are the most valuable NFL franchise and why Louisville is the most valuable NCAA basketball team.
