Big East W Hoops

Admins, feel free to move this thread over to the Big East Women's Athletics section. I just want to initially post here to draw some attention to how well the Big East women's hoops team have been doing. The women's side is looking at potentially putting 4 teams into the NCAAs with DePaul at 16/23, Seton Hall RV/24, and St. John's RV/RV. Xavier also has a strong 9-2 record and Georgetown isn't out of it at 6-3. At this point, sending less than 3 teams dancing would be a disappointment and 4 isn't unrealistic, which is a huge improvement over the first 2 seasons.

I do my ratings for WBB as well(to be able to keep records so if girls that I coach go on to play in college, can give them the info)....

right now my top 10-
1 UConn
2 USC
3 Kentucky
4 Baylor
5 Stanford
6 Notre Dame
7 Texas
8 South Carolina
9 Georgia
10 Michigan St

BE Teams:
14 Seton Hall
44 DePaul
51 St John's
86 Georgetown
114 Villanova
135 Creighton
141 Xavier
146 Marquette
153 Butler
162 Providence

before you ask- X is 9-2 but their RPI currently is 201. Their SOS is awful- right now #338(out of 349- VMI and The Citadel don't have WBB teams).

Thanks for the update! I don't really follow the womens game, but it's nice to know we are doing well on that front as well.

It's funny that as much as DePaul has struggled on the men's side, they're the ones who have carried the torch on the women's side. Their record currently isn't as impressive as those of Seton Hall and St. John's, but 3 of DePaul's 5 losses have come to #1 UConn, #3 Notre Dame, and #4 Baylor, so the voters are clearly showing some respect the impressive strength of schedule. Hopefully the selection committee does the same if they don't win the BET.

1 thing I'd bring up with the WBB is that it being strong would be a HUGE help in getting UConn back for those that want to see UConn in the conference. It is just as much a part of the decision IMO as MBB and FB.

USC TROJANS #2? I think you mean South Carolina, but I see you have them listed #8.

If SHU, DePaul and STJ can handle their BEC schedules and all come out with 1 or 2 conference loses and all get into the Seni finals of the BECT I cannot see how we don't get 3 teams into the NCAA.

SHU is very good this year. Idk if as good 1-5 as last year. But def better 1-10 than last year.

I haven't seen DePaul yet or STJ. But I expect DePaul to still be real good. And I know STJ still has Handford and Grant.

Should be a fun year!
