Dunn is preseason player of the year. A little surprised with Reynolds here.

Kris Dunn is of course the Big East POY He will not win the real award. PC simply will not be good enough, too many teams/players above him. He's basically Sir'Dominic Pointer this year. Talent is obviously there, team just isn't for it to be realistic

No surprise at the top. Even though I think it might take a little time for all the new pieces at Creighton to gel I anticipate a 5-6th place finish with a chance to play in the postseason.
Nebraska by birth, Creighton by choice.

what? Pointer isn't remotely in the same class as Dunn is. Last year Dunn had 2 games from Dec 1 on with single digit points. 6 games with double digit assists in that period. Pointer had 8 games in conference where he got 10 points or less. Dunn wasn't close to Pointer last year, and he's going to be better this year. There was debate last year if Pointer was the best player on St John's. That won't be the case at all this year with Dunn. I think PC will struggle- but the coaches will want to reward him for sticking around this year if at all humanly possible.

so the preseason coaches picks:
Villanova 81
Georgetown 70
Butler 67
Xavier 55
PC 45
Marquette 44
Seton Hall 27
DePaul 25
Creighton 23
St John's 13
not real sure of the point scale they used. 11 1st place votes were identified. if that was the normal 10-1 point scale would mean 605 points. But you add up all the votes here and only 450 points.

Interesting they gave the preseason rookie of the year to Brunson.

All seem reasonable. In terms of the team poll I think the coaches seem to think the following:

Tier 1 - Nova, G'town, Butler Xavier - all solid tourney team
Tier 2 - PC & MU - bubble teams
Tier 3 - SHU, Dep, CU, SJU - would surprise people if they finish above .500 in league and challenge for the postseason
Go Nova!
