The 15 programs best positioned to succeed over the next five years – Garry Parrish, CBS Sports – September 14, 2015
13. VILLANOVA WILDCATS

Outlook:
There was a time a few years back, after three straight double-digit-loss seasons, when some were wondering whether Jay Wright's program was slipping. But that time has passed. He's now won back-to-back Big East titles and is projected to win a third straight this season. So Wright, who is still just 53 years old, seems set to keep the Wildcats nationally relevant.

Top Program in Each State – CBS Sports - September 16, 2015
Pennsylvania: Villanova Wildcats

Outlook:
In sum: Villanova has a better chance to succeed in the Big East than Pittsburgh does in the ACC and/or Temple does in the American. It's also feeling like Jay Wright is settled in for the long haul with the program. He is Villanova basketball now, and college hoops overall feels better when you see Nova doing well.

Villanova is Big East's team to beat again - Dick Vitale, ESPN – September 16, 2015
Jay Wright has established a special program at Villanova.

Over the past 11 seasons, Wright's Wildcats have made it to the Big Dance 10 times. Villanova will make it 11 out of 12 this season.

This season's Villanova team is dangerous because of its perimeter play. This group has speed, ability to shoot the 3-pointer and interchangeable parts. On any given night, a different player could lead the team in scoring, providing trouble for opposing defenses. The blend of experience and youth should work well.

How good have the 'Cats been? Over the past two seasons, they have won 87 percent of their games (62-8). Unfortunately, losses in the NCAA tournament, to NC State last season and eventual-champions Connecticut two seasons ago have put a damper on great regular-season success.

Wright is an impressive 319-152 at Villanova. He should bolster those numbers even further this season. Villanova will be the team to beat in the Big East.Read on . . .
