How good can Ellenson be?

Starting to get some publicity that he missed because he was injured during all the all american games. I'm trying to temper my expectations but people are starting to talk.

The thing is- the better he is this year- the more likely he is a 1 and done. It's a darned if you do darned if you don't type of situation.

I wouldn't be so sure to immediately classify him as a one-and-done. Regardless of his productivity as a freshman, the fact remains that his brother Wally will be on the team this year and next. He has been very outspoken about the desire to play and be successful with his brother on the same team. Depending on how the season goes/ends, he may be back for a second year - but I doubt he stays longer than two years.

The issue though is that the better he is, the higher up he probably gets in the draft.

Also a big thing IMO is that with the NBA CBA ending after the 2017 season, there is a good chance that any of the guys who are on the fence about leaving early will do just that so they have a years worth of money built in before the lockout.

Real simple he's gonna win us back to back national championships leading Wojo to Billy Donovan success where we become elite so quickly he doesn't have any interest in leaving unless it's Duke or
the NBA. Why can't anybody else wrap their heads around this?

Weak argument, as usual.

huh? If he's one of the top 4-5 freshmen, why wouldn't he be more likely to be a 1 and done? The better he is, the more likely that he's going to be 1 and done. Also, didn't you say that the draft class is weak? If so, doesn't that make it more likely that he goes after 1 year?

This is your weak argument:

"It's a darned if you do darned if you don't type of situation".

That quote must be embroidered on all your pillowcases, and must be framed on every wall.

We get a Top 5...? "The thing is, he's one and done".
We get recruits ranked #35 thru #150...? "Frankly, we're not getting strong enough recruits".
We get a lottery pick to stay an extra year...? "The thing is, his numbers will probably go down this year."

The Ellenson situation applies to every team in the nation that has a top recruit.

Now, I sit and eagerly await your 4,174th post in response to this.

The thing is, Ellenson is a darned if you do type of situation. The better he plays, the more likely he is going to go pro. That's just reality.... The worse he plays- yeah he stays- but then he's not as good for Marquette. If that's not a darned if you do darned if you don't type situation, I don't know what is.

I NEVER ONCE said that Dunn's numbers are going downhill. At least not independently. Dunn though is going to suffer because of all the other losses that PC has taken. Teams are going to gang up on him and make anyone else beat them. Everyone knows that.
