Big East - FS1 New Year's Marathon now on Jan 2

Per Kevin McNamara on twitter. I love it, although the marathon will actually be the second league game as teams are expected to still play Dember 30/ 31.

I don't think it's a surprise at all. I'd expect any games on the 31st to be noon or 2pm tips at the very latest.

Hopefully some games will be on Big Fox. That could make it where the last game is like a 8pm tip instead of a 9 or 10pm tip even. Have Noon on FS1, 2pm and 4pm on Big Fox, and then 6 and 8 on FS1.

lol. I think it's something they really had no choice in the matter. When the college football playoff is pulling in the numbers they are getting(at least double what the bowl games got in year 1- and moreso triple or quadruple)- it's a no brainer. It stings I know some folks on here that think basketball shouldn't have to take a back seat- but it is what it is.

Well, it was a no-brainer to move away from the college football playoff on NYE. Something I've been saying with Stever. Jan. 2nd will be showered with Bowl games and other college hoops action. Should be a great day!

Someone on the CU board said that CU opens BigEast play on the road but is at home on Jan. 2. Tough turnaround with a home game on Dec. 28 too.
