ESPN released new rankings. Here the the Big East commits:

#16 Spellman (Villanova)
#71 Brunk (Butler)
#84 Hauser (Marquette)
#91 Jones (Xavier)
#94 Goodin (Xavier)

Yakwe was #99 but was no longer there due to his reclassification to 2015. According to Biancardi, he would have moved up into the 50-75 range. Still early, hopefully the Big East can get 4-5 more commits. Creighton is after Huerter, Jarreau and Ponds. Not sure we will land any of them however.

Ponds sounds like he is St. John's bound. But things change, our fans thought we had Heron. We will see.

Not trying to "sound stever" here. But, does any of our BE schools "really look good" for a top 50 recruit? Xavier has a OV coming from Taureen Thompson an ESPN ranked 89th.

Nice, Ponds is ESPN #42.

While it would be nice to have more recruits in the top 50, I think Ponds is Big East bound (likely SJU). If you look at the Pac-12 or Big-12, they actually have less commits than us so far but it's still early.

Just looking Pac 12 has 5 top 100 recruits, Big 12 has 3.

I just looked at 2015 and there weren't a lot of top 100s that went to the BE. It looked like 5-6. That's ok here and there. But, the BE has to keep averaging 10-12 top 100s to stay a top 5 conference.

And yet just about every program is saying that recruiting has not been a problem in the least. We're getting our fair share. Remember you are comparing a 10 team league with 14 team leagues. 6 in a 10 team league is akin to 9 in a 14 team league. We're doing fine. Don't worry about the ESPN100. Focus on the quality young players that are in the league AFTER they arrive and play. Some kids who are not ESPN100 end up being studs (exhibit A for Nova: Darrun Hilliard).

Don't let the Stever paranoia get to you. Our league is in GREAT shape.
