College basketball season is less than three months away. So it's time to reveal the featured matchups in the eighth annual Tip-Off Marathon. All rankings are from the No-Longer-Way-Too-Early Top 25.

Tuesday, November 17th

• 9:00 PM - Georgetown at No. 1 Maryland, ESPN2

Maryland and Georgetown Set to Renew Basketball Rivalry - April 21, 2015

The game will be played in College Park, and Maryland will travel to Verizon Center to play Georgetown in 2016, according to CSN-Baltimore.

The Terps and Hoyas last scheduled a regular season game between each other in 1993, when Maryland, led by Hall of Fame coach Gary Williams, upset the Hoyas at the US Air Arena in Landover, MD.

The two schools have only faced each other a handful of times in various in-season and post season tournaments since that game in 1993. Maryland leads the all-time series between the two schools, 36-26.

Hoyas actually play Radford on Saturday 11/14 before their tuesday night show down with Maryland.

In addition the 10 extra Practices and trip to Italy should have the Hoyas ready to play.

It's called the ESPN Tip-Off marathon as it's the 1st real big day for ESPN basketball. The season actually tips off on the prior Friday.

2. Georgetown at Maryland (Nov. 17, 9 p.m. EST)

It's a shame ESPN chose to schedule this game at the same time as the Champions Classic because it deserves its own platform for a national audience. In-state foes Maryland and Georgetown haven't scheduled one another in a regular season game since 1993, a 22-year hiatus caused by bickering over where the next game should be played. The timing of the revival of the rivalry is fortuitous, however, with the Terps a contender for preseason No. 1 and the Hoyas likely to begin the season in the Top 25.
