Not really on topic but, I will be in cincy for a day in a few weeks. Hitting a reds game one night. Will be arriving in afternoon. Any suggestions on what to do before game? Will only be there for afternoon and then game. Are the riverboat cruises interesting or hokie?

You have a lot of options:

1. Stay close by hanging around all the development in The Banks area (http://thebankscincy.com/) -- plenty of bars, restaurants, etc. (Consider this: http://www.moerleinlagerhouse.com/).

2. Take a cab up to the Over-The-Rhine area to see what urban revitalization should look like. An old German area from the turn of the 20th Century that's been reclaimed with a lot of neat bars and restaurants (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Over-the-Rhine).

3. Frankly, if you really want to get a neat feel for Cincinnati, go up to Mt. Adams for a beverage - - I suggest the Blind Lemon, or go to the Pavilion for a nice view of the city (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mount_Adams,_Cincinnati).

If you're only in town for one day, I wouldn't spend my time on the river, especially if I'm from the coast.

p.s. Keep in mind that the bridge you'll see next to GAPB is the Roebling Bridge. If that name rings a bell, then you'll recognize the Cincinnati bridge as being the warm-up for the Brooklyn Bridge.

There's a pretty new Casino near Downtown. More restaurants and bars as well as a pretty good burger joint inside. Dinner at the Precinct, an old Police Station, is fabulous if you love great steaks. You'll definitely need to call ahead.

If you aren't into the whole partying/drinking scene, you could even swing over to Union Terminal, otherwise known as the Hall of Justice. Cool building.

But if you are into the bar scene, I also recommend the Moerlein House and Smale Park right outside of it. It's pretty fun. You could even do a local brewer bar crawl, Cincy has a pretty epic local craft beer scene and lots of them are served in OTR and downtown. Oh, and I say get into Great American Ballpark early too. There is a huge, and I mean HUGE selection of beers in there and bars to visit.

JMO, but the building doesn't look that cool. I've heard it's a lot neater though if you're there for the reaping.

Thanks for the tips! Will probably pick a place for lunch (maybe a few beers) before game. Wont be staying in town that night so the party scene will probably not work

Not sure what your picture is, but it is not Union Terminal. Here is the link to the actual Union Terminal (https://www.cincymuseum.org/union-terminal). That said, I wouldn't go there unless I had an abiding interest in art deco murals.
