Dickie V gave Xavier some love today

http://espn.go.com/espn/dickvitale/stor ... ll-chatter

• I love this stat: Xavier has been .500 or better in 33 straight years of conference play (MCC, Atlantic 10 and Big East). No other school in all of NCAA Division I has an active streak of more than 28 years. Chris Mack's team should make it 34 in a row this season.

Whats your favorite stat on your team?

2nd winningest program in the 70s... It'd be impossible to dethrone UCLA for that but still beat out Kentucky, NC State and Indiana who were good back then.

Georgetown- most final 4's(5) and title game appearances(4) of any team in the current Big East.

Luckily- as Weber from VCU was 2 behind Murdock and 11 behind Linehan with still what 15 games to go for him when he blew his knee out. (Ironically reading Linehan had 17 steals in the year he only played 6 games as a medical redshirt).

It's interesting that the steal stat only came into being in the 1985-86 season.

Butler has played in 32 NCAA Tournament games and has never lost to a lower seed, much of that because its 8-1 in the 1st round since 2001.

Basically Butler is a lock to advance, at least once.

Since '85- Georgetown and St John's the only 2 teams to be #1....
only 2 teams to be #2 will surprise you.... Villanova- no surprise, but then DePaul.....

Georgetown #10 as well in times in the top 10 from 1985 on. 132 times- or 23.2% of the time. Big East with 7 of the top 54 teams making it into the top 10.
