This is why here in NE we don't fault Bob Kraft for creating his Patriot Place shopping/dining/lodging complex surrounding Gillette Stadium---he's paying for the stadium himself. The only public money was spent on road improvements, which benefits the public on non-game days as well.

Recently he tried to get multimillions of state aid to put a train station at the complex--state said no. Steve Wynn wanted to build a casino across the street--state said no. Kraft pouted for a while but got over it.
