Surprise surprise the first one on top of all the bad news in the Big East...Stever! I'm suprised you took time out of your busy schedule felating the AAC folks over on the realignment boards to grace us with your presence. Ah who am I kidding, you live to troll these boards, thats why you have twice as many posts here as the next busies poster.

As for Mavrick, it would have been nice to have him but it's not a huge hit for us. Frees us up another scholly for next year and it's not like he was our missing piece to make the NCAA's.

Shamorie Ponds for 2016 listed his final four teams and they are in no order; St. John's, Creighton, Providence and Minnesota.

not a huge hit for you? Are you serious? He was a top 30 recruit in the class of '16.

Mullin for as great of a job as he's done- and he has done a great job- has whiffed on the 3 biggest recruits- Diallo, Sampson, and now Rowan.

But really though, the fact the Johnnies were even in the conversation is a win. Lavin left the team basically in shambles. Their leading returning scorer averaged 1.5 pts a game, what 5 star recruit would jump to a team with a brand new coach and a team with no experience. This is a rebuilding job, none of us can really judge for another 3-4 years.

True- but the thing is, it's going to take one of those guys to take a leap of faith. With the connections that Mullin had, you thought this could have been a great chance. Someone has to be the first...

He's only been on the job for 4 months. What are you talking about? He also had to make up ground, if not fighting off blue blood and local schools, when going after Diallo, Sampson, and Rowan. I guess you're gonna conveniently forget he did land LoVett, Mussini, and Ellison. A good, base to start off a rebuild.

Possibly, Ponds could get the ball rolling on the 2016 class.

who he lost:
DIallo #5 in 247 Composite
Rowan #39 in 247 Composite
Sampson #53 in 247 Composite

who he got-
Lovett #90 in 247 Composite
Mussini #110 in 247 Composite
Ellison #185 in 247 Composite

There's a pretty big difference in getting top 50 players and getting guys either barely in top 100 or not even in the top 125. 247 has them #4 in the Big East, very much below Marquette, Georgetown, and Villanova. #38 class nationwide. Its a good class, but if they had just been able to get one of the 3 real studs, it's a game changer type of class.

Saying he "lost" them implies that he "had" them. He never did, so let it go.
Nebraska by birth, Creighton by choice.
