Chris Mullin has hired former Iowa St assistant coach Matt Abdelmassih as the first member of his staff. He was the lead recruiter for the cyclones and graduated from St. John's in '06.

I would expect the rest of the staff to be announced within the next few weeks. Watch for more NYC guys to be on board and guys with recruiting experience.

Was the lead recruiter for Diallo which may explain why St Johns is trending in the crystal ball for him. Hopefully Mullin can bring in Slice from Kentucky as well.

He's not wasting any time, is he? :D

Has St. John's even held the press conference yet to formally announce Mullin's hire?

Noteworthy in the articles is that Abdelmassih, like Mullin, is a St. John's alum. I think it's impossible to overstate what that level of loyalty and commitment to a school brings with it.
