Article indicates that the Garden is pretty happy with the Big East and it seems that there is no danger of losing it.

That 3,000 difference is probably the difference in Creighton fans, without the Doug show bringing a mass exodus out of Omaha. Thanks to those who made the trip from far midwest cities this year. I realize that as a Manhattan resident, I have it pretty good as far as getting to see my team.

As far as keeping MSG happy, I have to think committed every year + history + 75% full (& probably closer to a paper sell-out) trumps what the B1G or ACC could offer in terms of 20,000 for one year but no long term commitment.

I'm surprised by the low turnout for the Championship. I thought that we'd see more Nova fans make the trek from Philadelphia for the weekend. I'm sure if Georgetown or certainly St. John's (if they were on the other side of the bracket, of course) had made the Finals that attendance would have been higher.
As for the decline from last year, I'm sure that it was due to Creighton having a poor season. Many CU fans decided just to skip this year. If we are better next year I'd think we'd see the pilgrimage of CU fans to NYC again.

I also think the paper novelty tickets are partially to blame for low attendance. It's a pain to sell those online vs. the "print yourself" pdf's you get for most other events. So, I think fans who went home just let the tickets go unused, resulting in high prices online even for nosebleeds.

Crowd last night was pretty much all Nova, I'm happy with our turnout and had a great time at the post game Nova Nation celebration!
