I've been busy and haven't followed the smaller conference tourneys; is there a risk of an upset in one of these tournaments that can rob the Big East of a bid?

none. Not even remotely a chance.

I'd love to see all of our teams out of the 8/9 game and a round of 32 game with a 1 seed, if possible, but I'd settle for just avoiding UK.

I just don't see how St John's avoids the 8/9 game. The other 5 I think should be safe.

No, not really. All 6 teams are safely in.

With an RPI of 45, how are they not a 10/11 seed?

because the Big East is so good. And the RPI isn't the only determinant.

I agree. But if RPI were the only determinant, St. John's would be a 12 seed. Other factors are why I bumped them up to 10/11.

Maybe they will be an 8/9, but I can certainly see ways that they could be lower.

Not really a big deal to me one way or the other. If they're an 8/9, they'll just have to win in Round1 and then beat Kentucky. 8-)
