Apparently when the game is in the last 30 seconds of a game, Big East refs don't believe that an arm swatting across both offensive players arms is a foul.

Come on now. That was a good no call and if there was a call it's an offensive foul for lowering the shoulder into the defender.

Huge win. Xavier is fun to play. A little too fun sometimes…almost had a heart attack. SJU and Xavier are both legit tourney teams. Refs were ridiculous. They looked like 2 different people in the 2nd half. Must be consistent. I thought Stainbrook was going to absolutely eat us alive. Thank god for Obekpa.

This is huge because we are now solidly in (as of now), sweep Xavier which helps in a tie breaker, and we have a bit of time for Harrison and Obekpa to rest for G'Town. The Garden is going to be electric and sold out Saturday. Win that game and we are in no matter what. Win BET games and it can just help seeding.

Really thought Xavier was going to win when they stole it from Harrison with 15 secs left. Usually we lose those. Nice to win one.

Right before that play, Abell bumps into Harrison and steals the ball. No call. Good no call on both plays.

Good game X. Looks like we just traded the Bearcats for the Musketeers. We used to play games like that against them all the time.

looks like a good non-call to me. dom is moving his feet and in good position. abell initiates contact and both players go down. swat across the arms happens as both players are falling to the floor.

if anything they should call that on contact, but it's not something that warrants a charge and dom's in good position so play on.

NOT the overall rank.

So doesn't paint the rosiest picture of St John's at all...

Which makes sense because if they go 2-3 rest of the way, with wins over Xavier and Marquette and a home loss to Georgetown road loss to Nova and a home BET loss- that's 2-3 raw but 2-3.4 added to their own record. Would make sense going down from 46 to roughly 58 as a result of that.

How did you like the game last night?

Expected RPI rank is not the best estimate. It is a statistical mean if a wide range of possibilities. If it is the best estimate, then you're going to have to explain who's going to finish ahead of them.

No calls and then everything.

Agree. I thought there were a number of phantom calls where there was absolutely no contact. Oh, well . . .

Very entertaining game, and I think we got the best result for the conference.
