Seed the All Big East Tournament

Since we enjoy discussing seeding and none of what we say about the NCAA tourny matters lets try something we can control. Lets seed a fictional tournament made up of schools who were in or accepted an invitation to join the Big East. There are 32 schools who fit that description* and I propose we seed a 24 team tournament based on this years standings and rankings. Who gets a bye and who is left on the bubble when it pops?

UConn (AAC)
Syracuse (ACC)
Georgetown (Big East)
Providence (Big East)
St. John's (Big East)
Boston College (ACC)
Seton Hall (Big East)
Villanova (Big East)
Pitt (ACC)
Rutgers (B1G)
WVU (Big XII)
Virginia Tech (ACC)
Temple (AAC)
Miami (ACC)
Notre Dame (ACC)
Louisville (ACC)
Cincinnati (AAC)
USF (AAC)
Marquette (Big East)
DePaul (Big East)
TCU (Big XII)

let's do some quick cleaning up here-
Big East teams outside top 100- DePaul, Creighton, Marquette- 7 left
AAC teams outside top 100- Tulane, ECU, UCF, Houston, USF- 6 left
ACC teams outside top 100- Va Tech, BC- leaves ND, Lou, Syr, Pitt, Mia (5 teams)
B12- team outside top 100- TCU-1 team left(WVU)
MWC- teams outside top 100- none- 2 teams left

So the 24 teams would be 21 and then 3 others...

In terms of the RPI of the teams:
1 Nova 4
2 Louisville 14
3 San Diego St 20
4 Georgetown 21
5 Butler 22
6 PC 23
7 SMU 24
8 Notre Dame 27
9 West Virginia 28
10 Temple 31
11 Cincy 35
12 Xavier 40
13 St John's 41
14 Boise 42
15 Tulsa 47
16 Pitt 52
17 Miami 64
18 Syracuse 70
19 Seton Hall 73
20 UConn 88
21 Memphis 93
22 Creighton 130
23 DePaul 134
24 TCU 137

matchups would look like
24 TCU vs 9 West Virginia- winner vs 8 Notre Dame
17 Miami vs 16 Pitt- winner vs 1 Villanova
20 UConn vs 13 St John's- winner vs 4 Georgetown
21 Memphis vs 12 Xavier- winner vs 5 Butler
22 Creighton vs 11 Cincy- winner vs 6 PC
19 Seton Hall vs 14 Boise- winner vs 3 San Diego St
23 DePaul vs 10 Temple- winner vs 7 SMU
18 Syracuse vs 15 Tulsa winner vs 2 Louisville

If Syracuse ineligible for this, you slide everyone 19 down up 1 and Marquette becomes #24.

RPI isn't the end all be all. If it was then selection sunday would be a lot more boring. I'm talking about at the end of the regular season, before conference tournaments starts. How will the season play out and who will be seeded where and who will be left out. I clearly wasn't asking for all of these teams current RPI ranking.

the seeds may be a bit different- but not by much. The 8 byes being Nova, Louisville, San Diego St, Georgetown, Butler, PC, SMU, and Notre Dame seem pretty much spot on. A week or so ago, WVU may have had an argument but not so much now.

Then tell us how it's would play out? I want to know Stevers interpretation on how this field would play out. Would you go straight chalk by the RPI rankings? How far would he have an AAC team go? These are questions I need answered. Heck if we're gonna do this why not just put every team in and do an old school NCAA tourny of 32 teams.

Did the 32 Tm bracket
1 seeds-in order: Nova, L'ville, Butler, ND

Coach's poll and arv, then used w/l for everyone else.
DePaul as 8th in BE, CU 9th, Marq 10th
Nova won their region
Louisville won
Temple over WVU in Butlers region
Creighton over ND (and SMU, Cincy) in NDs region.

Creighton over Nova and won the whole damned tourney
over Temple. Interesting formula - regardless of whom I paired
the Jays versus in the final - Creighton won!
Must be a "printout bracket" algorhythm?

I was looking for a site where I could plug the teams into the bracket.
