Here's some light Monday morning reading for you. People wanted details of what exactly had gone wrong at Seton Hall. Seton Hall was determined to cover it up. Seeing as this is 2015 and not 1935 such things can never be covered up for long. And here we go...

The group of hangers-on might help explain Zags reporting that Sina didn't feel safe in the locker-room.

Scary that a coach would let things get to that point. Package deals are foolish. They come in with built in divisions in your roster. Foesn't Tiny have any influence on Whitehead? Wouldn't he try to straighten the kid out. There was so much talk last year about how good a kid Whitehead is and how close Tiny is to the family. Where is the kid's mother?

Interesting article. Thanks for the link. Who's in charge? Apparently not the coach.

As interesting as the article is, it doesn't really shed light on the hints from SHU fans who have used words like the following to describe the situation: "disgraced", "disgusted", "embarrassed", "sad and scary". One fan said something to the effect that it will be a dark day for SHU when what apparently has happened is revealed.

Apparently we have a situation where the coach doesn't have what it takes to manage a program at this level. That's not disgusting. It's nothing for the school to be embarrassed about. Willard has done nothing to disgrace the school. He's just not up to the job. It happens in every walk of life. He gave his best effort. He recruited top talent to the school. Now it's time for them to find someone who can manage the talent, who can bring out the best in them, and who can get them to play together. Thank Willard for his service and move on.

New quote from Jaren Sina's father saying that there were no racial issuing regarding Jaren and the team- as was reported in that blog. He declined to discuss what the problem actually was, however.

I don't know a lot about Hurley as a coach other than that he's had some success.

What Seton Hall needs right now is a no-nonsense coach who is prepared to sit a kid on the bench, suspend him if necessary, or kick him out of the program if called for - all regardless of his level of talent. He must establish that the team comes first. Is Hurley that kind of coach?

I just know that he is the only one who has the clout amongst the fan base to be able to do some of the things that might need to be done like sitting or cutting some of those guys. He's been building URI into a nice program over in the A-10. They have been making steady improvements the last three years and right now they sit in 3rd place in that conference. The thing is Whitehead is going to be gone in a year or so because if he truly has a posse they are pushing him to go pro sooner than later. Thats what hangers on do, they give you bad advice and want you to get that money. So he might not even have to deal with him and his baggage for long. Also who knows what anyone will do if/when Willard is fired. Those kids might all look to leave through transfer or go pro over seas.

Hurley is the answer to the long term problem, not sure if he would be able to handle this mess Willard has but I don't think he would create the mess Willard has. He has better connections to the local North Jersey talent than Willard and is a name everyone in the area knows well. His dad is a legend in the NJ/NYC high school coaching ranks. His St. Anthony's teams were powerhouses and he sent multiple kids to big time programs including both of his sons.

Bill Marsh - You just described Hurley. No way any entourage would be allowed in the locker room. Also not sure that Danny wants the hassle with coaching SHU. He probably could have had the RU job if he wanted it.

SHU needs to decide if they want to pay to get a top line coach. It wouldn't surprise me if Hurley is making more at URI than Willard is at SHU.

Lets see if they are doing what they are supposed to and using that Fox Sports money to pay for a legit coach. If they did that 5 years ago they wouldn't be in this mess.
