My hope for the Friars is that they go 3-2 the rest of the way, then win one in the BET. That would put them at 22-11 and RPIWizard forecasts an RPI of ~21. I would hope with 22 wins, a top-3 finish in the conference, and a top-20/25 RPI that they would get a 5 seed, but you never know. Honestly, a 6 seed might be easier - I think statistically the 6 seeds make it out of the 1st round more often than 5 seeds.

You are right.
6 seed 79-41 vs 11 seeds
5 seed 76-44 vs 12 seeds

6 seeds make the sweet 16 40 times last 30 years.
5 seeds make the sweet 16 39 times last 30 years.

so really absolutely no difference at all between a 5 or 6 seed- if anything a hair better for a 6 vs a 5.

where it does change is when you get to the 7 and 8 lines
7 seeds 73-47 vs 10 seeds.
8 seeds 59-61 vs 9 seeds.

7 seeds make the sweet 16 20 times last 30 years
8 seeds make the sweet 16 11 times last 30 years

In case you are interested, White & Blue Review has a resident bracketologist doing weekly brackets. There is a new one up today

Although Creighton is no where near making the tournament this year, it is still interesting to see the predictions. As of right now still 6 BE teams in the tourney. There are also conference capsules to know what is going on in the other conferences. Check it out.

3 vs 6- 3's 37 6's 28
4 vs 5- 4's 34 5's 28

one thing that is amazing-
6 seed have played a 14 that upset the 3 14 times.
5 seeds have played a 13 that upset the 4 14 times.

Kansas as a 1 seed? Sorry, but their awesome SOS cannot overcome 5 losses already. Also, Temple is much more solidly in than one of the Last Four.

If Kansas wins the Big 12 Regular Season and Tournament Championship they should be a one seed.
Have you looked at Temple's resume? It's not good...

1 thing that is pretty funny- if Kansas is viewed as a 1 seed, that would probably help out Temple a ton.

and not sure about the resume
19-7 record
7-5 record away from home
30 RPI
6-5 vs RPI top 100
2 sub 100 losses(1 is UNLV who is 102 right now).
50 SOS

That's a pretty solid resume quite frankly. Especially with the big pop win over Kansas and the fact that they are undefeated with their full lineup. Tough to see them out right now unless they go in the tank here late.
