Villanova is a #2 seed playing Albany, would play winner of Ohio St/Colorado State

Xavier is a #9 seed playing the 8 seed Ok State. In this bracket Xavier drew the short straw and would have to play Kentucky next round

Georgetown has a 6 seed and definitely the best looking path to the sweet 16 in this. Play 11 seed LSU and then 3 seed Utah.

Providence is also a 6 seed playing winner of Old Dominion/Temple, and if they win that ironically they will play UNC

Seton Hall hanging on, they are a 11 seed matchup against West Virginia and would have to play lousiville next round

Butler is a 5 seed and plays Stephen F Austin, and would play N Iowa next if they won.

Obviously matchups don't matter cause it will all change but it's nice to track possible paths to the sweet sixteen

bad thing is location for some of these...
Villanova would be playing in Pittsburgh. A lot of folks from Columbus would be there.
Xavier in Louisville.
Providence in Charlotte

You know you can pass your time looking at these brackets weeks ahead of the seedings, however the most important factor is how the team is playing at the start of the tournament.
If you study history, matchups and seedings don't matter once you get below a 11 seed or so. UD was an 11 seed... look at their run last year to the Elite 8

Ohio State- no one gave them a chance on this one - i.e, Aaron Craft's stunned look after the loss

Syracuse - did you watch CBS pregame road to the final four before/after this game?- Barkely et al - couldn't believe it happened, must have been a fluke.

Stanford - Richard Sherman and Condelezza Rice (Stanford grads) in the audience were sure UD would go down in flames

UConn - UD was within 4 points in 2nd half, only lost by 10

Butler and Providence could make the same run if they were playing at peak come March.

This is the second thread that you've alluded to Pittsburg being a bad place for Villanova to play. Just a question, you do know where villanova Univeristy is right?

I do, but Pittsburgh is
185 miles away from Columbus
305 miles away from Philadelphia

So about 120 miles closer for Ohio St. I'm not sure if the committee would do that to Nova quite frankly.

I got this: the idea here is that the PA Turnpike would be a formidable challenge at that time of year.

Even so. That's still the best case scenario when it comes to location for nova, no?

and too bad- no Big East teams in Omaha. We would love to get one here- nice home court advantage!
