Chris Holtmann, National Coach of the Year?

Why not?

Obviously Calipari is a good choice, but the coach of the year award tends to go to someone who exceeded expectations as opposed to a coach who came in with high expectations and met them (not that I agree with this, but it seems to be that way).

Mark Few, mike brey?

If Virginia hangs on, then Bennett might win.

If butler lands a protected seed, then I could see holtman being right in the mix.

Given the circumstances, hot man would be a great choice. Benetton deserves the recognition for what he's done with the ?Virginia program; I think he's the likely winner.

Wasn't Virginia the ACC leader last year? So its not like he has done a miraculous turnaround job like Holtmann has. I think we are forgetting how bad Butler looked last year. For them to be #2 in a much stronger BE this year is just amazing. He would get my vote.

I could see it being Tony Bennett, not just for this year but for how he got here over the seasons. It was just in 2009 that Dave Leitao was coaching UVA to a 110th Kenpom ranking. After two borderline top 100 seasons as Bennett was guiding the transition, he turned UVA into a top 50 team in both 2012 and 2013. Then he turned them into a top 5 team, now for the second straight year. Just an incredible turnaround.

I doubt Calipari could win the award. I'd guess Holtmann (Butler), Few (Gonzaga), Brey (Notre Dame), Krystkowiak (Utah), and Jacobson (Northern Iowa) would be the leaders.

Last night's 30 point blow out had to hurt Brey's chances
