What a dream start to Big East play for the Demons! But the schedule's about to get a lot tougher. They'll make a believer out of me if they can at least split their next 2 home games (Georgetown and DePaul). Or just win this weekend @'nova- that'd do it too but I guess I'm still being a hate and all but ruling out that possibility.

Purnell is not getting a 5-year extension.

Purnell usually puts in some time to rebuild and then leaves to rebuild again. So my guess is that he will not be here for the new stadium....unless he lands some better recruits....which may just happen.

I am sure Purnell is a good guy but I think you find a replacement ASAP and start to rebuild. Unless he makes the NCAA tournament this year he doesn't deserve an extension. I am not trying to sound like an elitest, granted Villanova has done nothing but help the Big East name, but some of you guys settle for the "We Do OK!" mentality. Become a competitor, this league needs all the help it can get and Purnell is NOT the answer.

DePaul isn't going anywhere. They played two home games and beat a team that is spiraling downhill on the road. If they are middle of the pack by the end of the year, I'd be surprised. I still think they will be playing (with Creighton) on Wednesday night in the BET. Purnell needs to go, he isn't take Depaul anywhere IMO.

I am certainly not high on the DePaul horse but you have no idea how well or not well they will play. I watch every game in-person and cannot figure it out.

You know....it appears they may have had some internal issues despite all their injuries too. DePaul is still not at full strength yet.
