24 people posted rankings entering new year's. Try to do this once a week after the weekend games and tally them up for the Monday or Tuesday games.

Here are mine after today's wild games:

1. Nova
2. Shu
3. St. John's
4. Butler
5. Georgetown
6. Providence
7. Creighton
8. Xavier
9. Marquette
10. The other team in the league, despite their two conf wins

My over/under for bids remains at 4.5, and I draw the bubble at providence right now.

See that guys. You can still beat a team and they'll still be ranked ahead of you. That's how rankings work. In other news. Alabama is going to the national championship game against Oregon.

Only really switched Seton Hall and St. John's mostly for how Seton Hall played without Whitehead and how St. John's played with and with out Jordan. There's no need to overreact and change your whole ranking based off of the first 2 games. I think the only thing we've learned thus far is that road wins are going to be tough to come by for everyone. Home teams are 9-1.

Now if we're just ranking on the 2 games and not projecting the final standings then obviously it's:

1. Seton Hall 2-0
2. DePaul 2-0
3. Nova 1-1
4. Butler 1-1
5. Xavier 1-1
6. Georgetown 1-1
7. Marquette 1-1
8. Providence 1-1
9. Creighton 0-2
10. St. John's 0-2

I think SHU might be better off without Whitehead. It will be interesting to see when he comes back. He only takes the ball away from Gibbs who can be a beast. SHU will be ranked on Monday but I predict they will pull a St. John's and have it be short-lived then drop out after an inexcusable loss or two. SHU is the much deeper team with or without Whitehead and now with Jordan gone, the season is really on the brink already for us. We have to win against either Nova or Duke to build our resume and keep our tourney hopes alive. It's been forever since we beat Nova so I fully expect we steal one of the two games against them. Law of averages always comes to collect an unexpected W at some point.

There are some real gritty teams this year but SJU, Butler, Creighton, G'Town, PC, SHU have all been in and out of rankings. This conference will eat most teams and spit them out. The only team that will come out with a nationally-respected record and team is Nova.

This thread is text book recency bias.

If you want a rank try to make a mental index since about December 1.

You seriously called DePaul the "Other Team in the League"? DePaul is trying to improve their program and you rip them. Nice.

I will say this for a 4th time....you better hope that St. John's (NY) and DePaul (Chicago) improve big-time IF you want this conference to reach its highest potential. New York and Chicago are the TOP cities and media centers of the Big East.
