kind of looking at this week......here's what I think the standings look like after this weekend....
Nova 2-0- wins Butler, Seton Hall
St John's 2-0- wins Seton Hall Butler
Xavier 2-0- wins Georgetown, DePaul
Marquette 2-0- wins DePaul, Providence
Georgetown 1-1- win Creighton, loss Xavier
Providence 1-1- win Creighton, loss Marquette
Butler 0-2 losses Villanova, St John's
Seton Hall 0-2 losses St John's, Villanova
Creighton 0-2 losses Providence, Georgetown
DePaul 0-2 losses Marquette, Xavier

schedule makers did Butler and Seton Hall no favors at all. Both would have critical type weeks next week- Butler with Providence and Xavier, and Seton Hall @ Xavier and Creighton.

This is going to be weird for Creighton fans. For the first time in 15-16 years, we will be the underdog for a majority of our league games! Still glad to be in the BE even if we suffer through a bad season. Our only hope is surprising a few teams, otherwise it will be a long year.

No pressure to win is nice though. We also finally have a chance to be the hunter rather than the hunted. That said, our players have chips on their shoulders and will be very motivated to prove doubters wrong.

Marquette has had the upper hand on DePaul since both joined the Big East Conference (both usually split games home and home in C-USA). If I remember correctly Marquette won by 2 points @ DePaul last year due to a missed 3 point shot by Billy Garrett Jr. at the buzzer. DePaul is currently in last place in the Big East Conference (10th) but Marquette is 9th in the Big East Conference currently. Marquette has played Nebraska-Omaha (Lost 97-89), North Dakota, Tennessee-Martin, NJIT (won 62-57), Alabama A&M, and Morgan State all but NJIT would be considered cream puff teams and strong programs Ohio State (L), Michigan State (L), Wisconsin (L), Georgia Tech (W), Arizona State (W) and Tennessee (W). Should be a good game at the Allstate Arena on New Year's Eve.

I have no idea what is going to happen, but I'm sure this isn't it. Too predictable.

Is that the same thing as a birdwatcher because you haven't been watching the same bluejays as I have if you think they are going to go 2-0! I hope you are right though.

Def tough scheduling for both Butler and SHU but it's a marathon not a sprint. Creighton is going to be interesting to watch this year. They have the biggest home court advantage in the league IMO. I expect them to get at least 6 or 7 home wins in conf. If they can beat DePaul away and steal 1 or 2 others, they could finish .500 or better. That gets them on the bubble.
