Sun dec 28th, 4 games

Noon, johnnies v Tulane @ MSG, fox sports 1
Remember when the green waves wee going to join the big east? They were reportedly the straw that broke the camel's back in terms of adding undesirable programs to our hoops club.
Well, the green waves are actually one of the better Conference of Americans at 9-2, but it is a very soft 9-2.
Big thing to watch for this game is how the johnnies do in the attendance category. Time for the long islanders and queens natives to make their way to broadway. Team is ranked, no excuses anymore. At least 8k should be present, but 10k+ would be a good sign for the remainder of the season.

2 pm, Morgan state v Marquette, fox sports 1
Morgan state stinks. Good chance to watch Marquette roll in the beautiful high pixel resolution brought right to our living rooms courtesy of fox sports 1.

4 pm, Florida gulf coast v Xavier, fox sports 1
Fgcu has a good record. No clue if they are any good. They can't be worse than utep, long beach or auburn, so Xavier has to stay focused.

6. Pm. Belmont at butler, fox sports 1.
Belmont is 8-4 but I don't see anything impressive about that record. Butler should roll, but could be a trap game.

Conference should go 4-0 Sunday. Imagine they are all double digit favorites.

New Yorkers don't really have any reason to watch football today.

A couple of things about the attendance. The Giants are playing the hated Eagles. No playoff implications but these two teams and fan bases HATE each other. Also our game is the first of a triple header. So it's not like it's a solo game for us. I doubt the fans for the third game will be there.

At the half: St. John's 47 vs. Tulane 22

I know it's Tulane, but this St. John's team is a very, very, good, defensive team. They'll be a tough out most games, as long as they play defense the way they've played over the course of this early season. Just stifling.

And the johnnies game is on Flatbush, not Broadway, my bad.

Yes, because Tulane was supposed to bring the New Orleans market AND was a Private school that the C7 Presidents were "happy" to compromise with. The Tulane Basketball program that has been to 3 (THREE) NCAA Tournaments in its history, and only has a 3,600 basketball arena. The Tulane athletic program that had been unfairly neglected and held back by the Catholic schools and Big East for too long and "deserved" and "earned" to play under the Big East banner.

Yea right.

Nice way to finish the majority of nonconference. 3 of the teams beaten are decent teams who will have their rpi in the 100s when all is said and done. Great job Big East!
