1 problem Seton Hall has is their schedule is so front-loaded. If he's out for 4 weeks, he misses-
St Johns
Villanova
@ Xavier
@ Creighton
Butler
DePaul
@ Butler

only 1 gimme in DePaul. Best 2 teams in the conference probably followed by 2 tough roadies and then a home and home with Butler separated by DePaul. Could be 1-6 and then be chasing their tail the rest of the way trying to get in. Would be more shocked to not see them like end of this week 0-2 and looking at a 2 game road trip to Xavier and Creighton.

This is so stupidly hard to predict outside Nova.

Before the season started I really thought X was the 2nd best team in the conference, then I went to the Wooden Classic and they were the worst team I saw there and I watched every game, now they seem to be righting the ship. I honestly have no idea outside of Nova. SJU looks great but I think they are fragile. I really see a bunch of 10-8, 9-9 teams outside Nova.

Seton Hall will pick up some wins, but EMT and Bill Marsh has very, solid points. I'll defer to their line of thinking.

The only SJU game I saw was Gonzaga.

SJU has a ton of talent. The only issue is whether they share the ball enough when they get into tight games. Against Gonzaga, whoever had the ball, shot it.

I think this has been the downfall of the Lavin teams.

1. Villanova

2. St. John's
3. Georgetown
4. Providence
5. Butler
6. Xavier
7. Seton Hall (would be 6 if Whitehead were healthy)
8. Marquette (bumped to 8 because of Fischer's recent play)
9. Creighton

10. DePaul

If you asked me to list this group tomorrow, 3-7 could be in a totally different order.

Before Luke Fischer arrived, I would have made the case that Marquette was #10. However, after seeing the impact and difference he makes, this is a completely different Marquette team. Good things happen when he's on the floor (and when Taylor's minutes, as a result, are reduced). We will be 8 strong!

1. Villanova
2. St. Johns
3. Georgetown
4. Providence.
5. Xavier
6. Butler
7. Marquette
8. Seton Hall (Whitehead injury is devastating)
9. Creighton
10. DePaul

After this weekend, I'm revising my earlier prognostication slightly:

1. Villanova
2. St. John's
3. Xavier
4. Georgetown
5. Butler
6. Providence
7. Marquette
8. Seton Hall
9. Creighton
10. Depaul

Everyone's bunched up so tightly between 2 - 8. A lot depends on how serious Whitehead's injury is.

I agree with this completely. I also agree with Golden Warrior's position that Fischer is a real difference maker and makes them a legit contender in the mix with the rest of that 3-7. Every time I've seen this Marquette team, I've liked what I've seen.
