Mon, Dec 22nd - 5 Games...

Monday night we have 5 games...
4:30pm, DePaul vs Colorado. <--- Diamond Head Classic, Honolulu.
7pm, Tenn-Martin at #23 Butler.
7:30pm, Long Beach State at #20 St John's.
9pm, Providence vs #18 Miami (Fla). <--- at Barclays in Brooklyn.
9pm, North Dakota at Marquette.
So, Sunday was weak, we were thrown off the horse a little, but we gotta get right back up in that saddle and keep advancing forward. Ultimately, both losses Sunday were on the road, and one was vs a "P-5" school, and the other, well, North Texas has no bad losses yet (I'm having trouble spinning this positively). These results though are hidden this weekend, because of Miami losing to Eastern Kentucky by 28, UCLA getting crushed by Kentucky, and Villanova's amazing comeback vs Syracuse.
Georgia has 3 losses, none of them bad (Gonzaga, Minnesota and Ga Tech (GT is weak though)). So this really doesn't destroy Seton Hall... they just have to take care of Maine next weekend.
North Texas is a bad loss and speedbump games like this won't be scheduled in the future. Creighton in a rebuilding year has given us wins vs Oklahoma and at Nebraska, and a 9-4 record... from a team predicted to finish lower in the standings. It would've been nice to avoid losses like this, but hey, whatcha gonna do, the world is an imperfect place.
So, Monday...
DePaul... which team will show up...? Their frenetic style will always threaten their opponents, like vs Stanford. But they are so undisciplined and difficult to watch. Maybe Brian Wardle will show up next year.
Butler will be at home, played Indiana tough, and should win vs Tenn-Martin.
St John's is so athletic and can be relentless up and down the court and can just overwhelm opponents. I would have few worries about this game, except Long Beach beat XU.
The Friars seem to have righted the ship over the last week, especially looking at their much-needed blowout of UMass. Miami of Fla just got run over by Eastern Kentucky 72-44. I'd like to say that winning this game would make up for Brown... not sure, just a big game to win. Hoping that our New Yorker friends and local PC-alums will come out and give us a home crowd boost. I know one PC -alum that won't be rooting for us, and he's sitting on the Hurricane bench, amirite...?!!!
Marquette looks like a new team since Fischer arrived. I feel really good about them taking care of North Dakota.
The non-conference finish line is just ahead off us, so let's sprint to the tape...!
