Fox should start really pushing the NYE BE Marathon. Here is your 3 meaningless football games!

Dec. 31 Orange Miami, Fla. 8 p.m. Georgia Tech (10-3) vs. Mississippi State (10-2)
Dec. 31 Fiesta Glendale, Ariz. 4 p.m. Arizona (10-3) vs. Boise State (11-2)
Dec. 31 Peach Atlanta, Ga. 12:30 p.m. TCU (11-1) vs. Ole Miss (9-3)

Or you could watch BE Hoops!

No.24 St. John's at Seton Hall 12 pm
No.15 Butler at No.7 Villanova 2:30 pm
Marquette at DePaul 5 pm
Creighton at Providence 7:30 pm
Georgetown at Xavier 10 pm

this year yeah.

but next year(and 8 of the next 11 years)- 4pm game would be the Oregon/Florida St game
8pm game would be the Alabama/Ohio St game
2 of the other 3 years- NYE is a Sunday.

I just don't think we need a gimmick(which is all a marathon is).

I am sorry FormulaX but the Orange, Fiesta and Peach will far outdraw any and all basketball games broadcast on December 31 or on any other date. It is just the way American TV sports viewers are. Football is king for about 75 to 80% of US college sports fans. I'm afraid it always will be. Long ago I learned to appreciate both. I can not remember the name of the WW2 admiral who said "football is the second greatest game of strategy after chess".

Good call, those are really meaningless bowl games with boring teams (IMO), while the BE games are good mathchups.

As long as college football viewers don't lose their remote controls, we will get some spillover fans.
If they're not college hoops fans, then they wouldn't have tuned in anyway.
None of the 6 football schools fall in our footprint.
Does Georgia Tech still run the wishbone? Zzzzzzz.

The average fan is going to watch the bowl game over a basketball game unless it's their team playing. This is the last game of the year for football vs a meaningless basketball game (to fans of other teams) in the middle of the season. It is what it is.
