Just one year and as you said we still play the week after. No issue with the B1G doing this, especially since we have the B1G - Big East challenge planned. If it was every year then I'd be a bit upset.
Seems to be a bit of an alliance between Big East Big Ten and Fox, since Fox owns partial rights. Smart move by everyone involved.

That's gonna be a crazy year in New York as the ACC, Big Ten and Big East will be doing their tourney in New York.

Kinda pathetic, if you ask me. Like taking a girl shopping before her date with another guy.

No offense to people who live outside of NY, but why do the ACC and B10 and other major conferences wanna have their championship in NYC when they think their conference is the best ??? they must have an inferiority complex or something. The average NY'er won't tune in to watch North Carolina or Clemson or even Rutgers. But many NY'ers will watch a St. John's game or a Seton Hall game because they see them in the papers all the time. . They might not go to games but they watch on TV. Having a foothold in the NY metro area with one school just won't get the ratings. You need a local rivalry to get the average persons attention. The old BE had many local rivalries.

This just reinforces the great situation we have with our BET, at MSG leading up to Selection Sunday... we have our top 2 rival conferences falling over themselves to try to duplicate what we already have...
---> 1 conference is lost in Brooklyn and paid a king's ransom to the A-10, including a non-conf challenge ...
---> the other conference is willing to play their tourney a week before every other power conference...
Blows my mind. We couldn't have designed this better ourselves.
In ACC tourney games not involving their teams, we're going to see Syracuse, Pitt and Notre Dame fans hanging out with us in Manhattan.

And they'll be telling us about how much they wish they were playing with us at the garden.

The Big Ten coaches will just love that long layoff before the NCAA, along with cramming their games into one less week.
The Valley's gone a week early for years, but they needed to get on TV. Like someone else said, NYC isn't going to stop what they're doing to watch this. I guess Delaney wants to solidify his genius status by adding to his East Coast imprint, which currently consists of Rutgers.

This move unmistakably validates the superb strategic positioning of the BE. Once DePaul regains its footing (just a matter of time), this will be one unreal hoops conference!

You'll also hear many people to Essex County, Hudson County, and NYC talking up Providence (when it is deserved), G'Town & Nova (both constantly)... Many of our teams have imprinted themselves in the minds of Northern NJ & NYC fans.
