12/2 games

Niagara @ St. John's
7:00PM- FS1

Mount St. Mary's @ Seton Hall
7:00PM- FS2

Northern Illinois @ DePaul
9:00PM- FS1

Looks like 3 layups at first glance, but maybe not. Classic trap games for St. John's and Seton Hall as they both have bigger and better things to look forward to next (SJU @ Syracuse, SHU vs. Rutgers then @ Wichita State). Hopefully they both stay focused and take care of business tonight.

As for DePaul, I don't know if there's any sort of real rivalry with NIU(I kinda doubt it), but with 3 wins they aren't that bad and if IL is anything like NJ, the in-state opponents tend to really get up for these games.

Northern Illinois beat Maine the other day at home.
NIU was losing by 21 pts with 10 minutes left, and went on a 28-2 run to close out the game.
NIU also had 36 FT attempts, to only 7 for Maine, and only 12 personal fouls compared to 29 for Maine.
Maine is in complete rebuild mode, but that's a crazy way for a game to turn.

NIU 's ranking is in the 150-200 range, which means that this should be a very competitive game.

Agree, Depaul game will be the most competitive.

Aside from DePaul's game these are must wins. SJU favored by 20. Couldn't find the line on the SHU game.

If you use a power rating system like Sagarin, Seton Hall would be favored by 24. My guess is that the Vegas line is even higher than that.

Sagarin, who likes St. John's, has them favored by 23. There are actually a few of us out here who are expecting good things from St. John's this year and who haven't been deterred by their loss to Gonzaga. ;)

Knowing SJU and how they play, this game will probably be tied at the half and then SJU will pull away with like an 8 point win.

I should add that Sagarin has DePaul favored by 8.

Defense? what defense? This Seton Hall- Mount St. Mary's game is a track meet.
