So he's made his decision, but he won't be signing a NLI until the spring. So the hat he picks up tonight only means so much...

I saw that too.

you could say that he's going to pick Kentucky, then if Calipari leaves for the NBA- he leaves as well...
or same thing with UConn and Ollie.
or same thing with St John's and if they fire Lavin, he's gone as well.

From what I can tell this has been a 2 dog fight for sometime and UConn is not in it. I would be SHOCKED if he picks UConn. Right now all signs are indicating Kentucky, all signs might just be people looking at Kentucky and looking at St. John's and saying he is going to Kentucky BUT Fran Fraschilla who I think probably gets some legitimate intel recently was quoted saying from what he has been told he feels that it will be Kentucky.

It's crazy how a recruits decision can impact a program but for Lavin Briscoe's decision is really make or break. There are basically 3 scenarios here, 1) Briscoe goes to Kentucky and Lavin (unless he has a miracle season) is gone, 2) Briscoe commits to SJU giving Lavin some breathing room, 3) Briscoe goes to SJU and brings Diallo and Sampson with him and St. John's is rolling. Unfortunately it looks like #1 right now but I hope I am wrong.

Yeah, and I think each website has a different prediction for Briscoe. He gave high praise to all 3 remaining schools. Tough to turn down Kevin Ollie.

I've been optimistic towards St John's because Tuesday night around 10pm a tweet came out from "Undercover Friar" that said "hearing Skai LaBissiere (sp) will be heading to Kentucky, and Briscoe will be heading to St John's"...

Why would a center and a point guard be an either or situation? That makes no sense at all.

I just repeated the tweet from Undercover Friar verbatim. Had nothing to do with their positions.

This is nothing definite, but Undercover is a pretty reliable source and is close to the Friar program. I wasn't going to post it, but after a bunch of Kentucky predictions from Daly Dose, Fran Fraschilla and other websites, I thought I'd share a positive note. I don't know who FriarJ's source is.

Good luck to the Johnnies...!

I'm going STJ also. I think he wants to wait till spring just in case something happens. When your that good there's really no reason to bind yourself with the NLI. They'll keep a spot for you.

UK it is...

On the plus side he said if players stick around (like this year) it would change his mind. So sounds like playing time is a big deal.
