Georgetown will be one of the four hosts for the 2015 2K Classic, benefitting the Wounded Warrior Project. This will include 2 games at MSG, as well as several games at home (featuring Siena and others).

The other host schools:
Duke
VCU
TBA

The Siena men’s basketball team will open the 2015-16 season in the 2K Classic benefiting Wounded Warrior Project, Saints coach Jimmy Patsos said today.

Patsos said Siena will get four games out of the event, spread over two weekends in November.

The Saints will play at Georgetown in Washington D.C. on the first weekend. They’ll also face either Duke in Durham, N.C. or Virginia Commonwealth in Richmond that same weekend.

The following week, Siena will travel to Smithfield, R.I. to meet a field that includes host Bryant, Radford and another school.

Siena will receive a guarantee of around $100,000 for its participation.

“You get the extra games, you get the TV exposure,” Patsos said.

It’s not a true tournament in that Siena can not advance to the championship rounds at Madison Square Garden, which are reserved for the high-major schools that are playing in the event.

hopefully it'll be Georgetown/VCU in the semifinals. That game last year was as fun of a game to watch in a long time.

I don't know too much about the BE, and only tend to post about things I'm relatively knowledgable about. Thought I'd pass along this little nugget of info. Still wish to see VCU in the BE, but seems to me that expansion talk has been tabled for some time.

I wish Georgetown and VCU would start a H&H!

Here is the current and future Big East non-conference schedules. Added in the Georgetown news. 5 of the 10 BE teams have their MTE/Exempt tournament set for 2015-16

Georgetown will also be playing a tournament in a tropical location one of those 8 team events next year. But it hasn't been released yet, so I'm not at liberty to say which one, but I know where we'll be playing the next two years.

Providence will be in the 2015 Wooden Legacy. The field looks pretty good.

Arizona, Boise St., Boston College, Evansville, Michigan St., Santa Clara, UC-Irvine
