Best Players by Position

A recent thread had started to suggest the rankings of post players in the conference. So I thought lets bring it to the board. Three installments, I'll start it with the top 5 big men in the conference.

1.) Jay'Vaughn Pinkston NOVA- My personal favorite big man in the BE. I think every team can appreciate the way this kid plays. Very tough, knows how to play.

2.) Matt Stainbrook XAV- Another kid who really know's how to play. Beats you with skill. Kind of reminds me of a college Marc Gasol.

3.) Josh Smith GTOWN- Really could be the best big in the conference if he can stay healthy and active for a a whole season. Incredible hard to guard.

4.) Chris Obekpa SJU- Know your gonna get close to 4 blocks and 6 rebs from him in most nights. Much potential to improve. Poor offensively.

5.) Jalen Reynolds XAV- Has a lot to prove but certainly has the potential to follow through. Physical specimen.

Wild card- Tommy Hamilton IV DEPAUL - Has really good size and skills. Think he could end up being a really solid player this year. Just never really hear about him.

Where will Luke Fischer fit in once he's eligible?

Below all those guys at least. I also refuse to rank new comers in my rankings.

I also would seperate big men into Centers and Power Forwards.

Centers:
1) Stainbrook
2) Smith
3) Ochefu
4) Hamilton
5) Obekpa

PFs:
1) Henton
2) Pinkston
3) Reynolds
4) Chrabascz
5) Burton

I'm pretty sure my list looks identical to this. Only person I would consider moving is Josh Smith, but only because even when he does play he is a huge liability on defense. Overall it's really hard to judge someone like him who has played so sparingly.

Reasonable list. Henton seems like a wing player to me as he can step out and hit the 3 at times, which makes him more a 3/4 but I guess in the truest sense, on that team he is a PF. I would put Burton up to 4; think he is going to have a breakout year.

Ochefu that high huh? I had him up next on my list. Think it will be tough for him to put up solid numbers with the players around him. I Figured there really wasnt enough players to do all 5 positions but I will continue with it when I do the small forwards.

Like I said center is a fairly weak position in the BE. I like Ochefu beause he rebounds and block shots and gives you more offense than Obekpa. In retrospect I'd probably switch Hamilton and Obekpa since Hamilton while a better offensive player in terms of points is not efficient and obviously Obekpa's shot blocking is elite.

Always liked Arc (Nova) at PG. Just always seems under control, calm, and with a plan. Also crazy clutch. Stainbrook is a stud. I love Obekpa because he's such a shot-blocking monster but his offense is still so raw. If he had an offense he'd be among the top centers in the nation.
