Report: McDermott offered to Wolves for Kevin Love

First-round pick Doug McDermott and two previous first-rounders -- Taj Gibson and Nikola Mirotic -- are part of the Chicago Bulls' trade offer to the Minnesota Timberwolves for Kevin Love, according to NBA reporter Chris Sheridan.

“The hang-up is Mirotic and McDermott signed their contracts (Tuesday),” Sheridan told 87.7 FM The Game in Chicago. “If this trade is going to happen, it's not going to happen for another 29 days. If Minnesota likes the offer way, way better than the Cleveland offer, they can wait.”

Sheridan said the Cleveland offer of No. 1 pick Andrew Wiggins, 2013 No. 1 pick Anthony Bennett and a 2015 No. 1 pick (from Memphis or Miami), might be an easier sell to the Timberwolves fan base.

I'm no NBA savant, but to me, there's not even a question of what should be more attractive to Minnesota, and it's Cleveland's offer. Still think it's something being put out there by Minnesota in an effort to get more, but I think the Cavs offer is more than fair. Trading McDermott to the T-Wolves wouldn't be a lot of fun for Creighton fans who want to follow him either.

I wonder if Minnesota is in more of the win now motif and the Bulls offer was more what they were loooking for... McDermott maybe a smidge more of a sellable name than Wiggins.
