Further evidence that this conference is going to remain strong through the ever changing landscape of collegiate athletics. Gaining a partnership with not one, but two, SEC schools in Florida and Vanderbilt is a HUGE get for the Big East - even if it is in Women's Lacrosse. It's good for them too, as now they have recruiting access to lacrosse players in the Northeast and Midwest.

I don't know how huge it is. I mean, C-USA has affiliations with Alabama, Kansas, Kansas St, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, and West Virginia- and doesn't seem to be helping them out too much- they just got raided to kingdom come. It sounds cool and all that- but end of the day, is pretty meaningless. Now if there were scheduling agreements with them for basketball- that's a different animal altogether!!!

Until the end of this season Penn State was in the CAA for Men's Lax. Did not really add any stature to the CAA in reality. Nor does having Villanova in the CAA for football. But is great if it strengthens Women's Lax.

And you left out several other CUSA affiliates: Kentucky, New Mexico, South Carolina - all in men's soccer. Raise your hand if you knew before now that KY was affiliated with CUSA. Keep your hand up if you care. As stated, meaningless.

I sense many beers being won this yr. with my SEC football buddies armed with this bit of trivia. I'll ask them how their BE schedule is shaping up this yr?
