1 his team won a national championship while McDermott flamed out early in the NCAA tournament
2 he plays baseball as well as football.

Is this is done strictly by fan voting, Winston will win based on winning the Heisman and name recognition. Doug should get it if fan voting is just part of the equation.

I am not saying him being white would help him win because of racism, just that it makes him a minority in the sport. No different than if he were Asian or Latino, people like rooting for the under dogs (myself included.)

I just can't see ESPN giving an award to a rapist. But maybe I am giving them too much credit.

Do you actually think he is a rapist?

If you do, then yes, I think that is a legitimate argument.

I, however, don't believe he is a rapist. So, I guess, i should have qualified my statement with that.
