Or will they offer them buckets of cash for a one year move to the United Center or the Field House. Is this all tied in with the announcement of the Gavitt Tip Off games?

How much cash did the C7 forego to keep the Big East name and the tournament at MSG?
There shouldn't be ANY dollar figure big enough to get the Big East to EVER move the tournament even once. Slippery slope.
Never.

Agree.
And if you play it a week early that's a loooong wait before the NCAA tournament. Would pretty much kill any momentum if you ask me.

I read that the B1G has a contract with cbs to air their championship game on selection sunday.
Could the BIG have 2 games on saturday morning/afternoon (to determine who will play for the championship)followed by BE championship sat night?
Maybe the rest of the game could be played before the BE starts their touney?

How do they plan on getting us out? The article even mentioned that we are there already. So unless they are willing to include us in the group of schools that make the rules I don't see any price worth moving out of MSG.

Interesting take on a possible compromise on a Marquette board:
This could be an interesting partnership with the BIG EAST. Use of the Prudential Center and Garden for preliminary games. Then 4 games Friday--two Big Teneleventwelve and two BIG EAST with two championship games Saturday night. PROVIDED FS1 gets the Big Tenelelventwelve contract and the BIG EAST picks up a few dinero. This might work.
I think it would be wise of the Big East to align themselves as much as possible with the Big 10. This would only be 1 year out of ever 7-10, and making friends with the Big 10 would be easily worth it as long as they don't push us back to the "mid-major" championship week.

If they want to make us one of the power conferences who make the rules then sure, if not then we should pass.

I don't think Fox has a chance of getting Big Ten tournament quite frankly. Definitely won't be on FS1- not when it's been network forever.. CBS a major factor there quite frankly....

We are locked in until 2026. No one can move us unless we let them.

does this suggest some kind of merger to form a true "super" conference?
