DePaul and Northwestern will start a 5 year series starting in the '15-'16 season. So we can rule out another possible Big East/B1G challenge match up.

That means it'll be DePaul vs Illinois. That's if the matchups were set up as regional "rivals."

They'll probably play 1-2x, but over an 8 year deal where both teams will have seasons that they don't participate in the event, it is my hope that they find the competitive matchups rather than simply regional ones.

I believe they stated that this will not be about regional matchups.

Yeah they said it would be based on competitiveness not geography. My post was more about both of their standings at the bottom of their respective conferences.
