Hoping to get a little hoops discussion going during a slow time on the board. I'm going out on a limb and will say Arcidiacono.

The best player on the best team usually has a pretty good shot so I'll go with JVP because I believe VU will repeat as regular season champs. Others in contention, IMO, depending on how their teams do (in no particular order):

DSR - Gtwn
Jordan - SJU
Dunham - Butler
Henton - Prov
Stainbrook - X

I'll be a homer here and say Deonte Burton.

I know, a bit of a stretch going with Burton so I'll go with DSR. I've been high on that kid for a while.

Likely best player on each team:

Hilliard - Villanova
DSR - Georgetown
Jordan - St. John's
Dunham - Butler
Dunn - Providence
Stainbrook (really?) - Xavier
Burton - Marquette
Chatman - Creighton
Whitehead - Seton Hall
Garrett Jr - DePaul

I think Henton will be the best player for PC next season. Dunn is probably the most talented but hard to say he will immediately be the best player after a major layoff from a 2nd shoulder surgery.

Was thinking the same thing. If Dunn is the best player then PC is in VERY good shape. However, I do not think he will be the best player.

Yeah, kind of going with upside there. Kind of like with Gibbs on SH vs Whitehead.

I could see Jalen Reynolds or Trevon Blueitt being the best player on X by the end of the season next year. But to answer the question, I gotta go with DSR as my way to early pick.

Everyone's overlooking Harrison...Jordan may very well be our best player but Harrison is a senior and he can go off. Jordan still needs to prove he can hit jump shots with consistency. So far he has shown lots of potential but he's still a more drive to the hoop guy. Needs to work on his outside shot more. Harrison is the opposite...he can hit from the LIE but he isn't particularly quick and can have trouble getting in the paint consistently.

To have a POY next year though SJ will have to go way above expectations. That has always been a problem with this program. Great talent but rarely capitalize and translate it to wins.
