http://www.omaha.com/article/20140414/SPORTS/140418954"I was cleaning out my golf bag the other day. A couple of double bogeys fell out.
» Looks like Oklahoma is coming back to the state of Nebraska — to play Creighton. CU Athletic Director Bruce Rasmussen told me that OU and CU have signed a contract to play a home-and-home in men's basketball, beginning next season when Lon Kruger's Sooners come to the CenturyLink Center (Creighton will play at Lloyd Noble Center in Norman the following season)..."

Oklahoma should be a ranked team next year so it should be a good matchup at home.

Good get for Creighton. Hopefully this is the start of replacing series like Long Beach St with more power conference foes. Not that LBSU was a bad opponent, but schools like Oklahoma and K State are a definite step up in name recognition, and if you lose to them, it doesn't matter

It makes me happy to see Creighton getting their deserved respect and benefitting from their new conference affiliation. You guys deserve it.

Nice job CU. This is just the beginning, as a ton more deals like this will be set up in the future. I like that it was done without a lot of fanfare... just got it done. C-Link will be rockin.

I know it's tough for the OBE guys to accept the diminished NBE (Cuse > Creighton), but this league is going to be great in time. We couldn't get a sniff of a home and home with somebody like Oklahoma in the past. Getting series like this shows you the league is taken seriously. Maybe not by ESPN, but by the people who matter, the people who actually are involved in college basketball. This conference is going to be built brick by brick, not with a big splash expansion, imo. Another brick: the great recruiting classes being put together. And next year, Nova's run to the Final Four.

Jays land a spot in the Emerald Classic, a new event in the Florida Panhandle in November. This is a two-at-home-against-lesser-opponents type tourney and then Ole Miss, Cincy, Mid Tenn St and CU in Florida. Based on where we are next year that is a decent tourney with Cincy being Top 20 this year.

Cincinnati could be pretty down next year, they lose Kilpatrick and Justin Jackson who were BY FAR their best two players.
I think it's a solid exempt event for a team like Creighton who will be incorporating some new pieces. Only problem with these "two at home games" is that Creighton will get stuck with two rpi-drag teams like Southern unlike other exempt events. But again, for a younger team that isn't as much of an issue.

We have 4 non-conference road games I believe next year so our schedule will be pretty tough for a young team.

Be careful what you wish for, as having to spend a couple hours with The Yellow Toothed Gnome can be hard to take. He truly is an a-hole.
