Big East projected starting lineups 2014-2015

Postby BigmanU » Fri Apr 04, 2014 7:08 am

I noticed the thread predicting next years Big East final standings. I know some teams have incoming transfers (which I don't know), players coming back from injuries, redshirts, 2014 recruits and early departures (draft, transfer etc.). Could anyone in the know post their teams projected starting lineups. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Here's my Georgetown prediction (this is not who I want to start but, who I predict JTIII will start)

Starting Five

DSR
Trawick
Paul White or Isaac Copeland
Hopkins
Smith

Bench:

Bowen
Paul White or Isaac Copeland
LJ Peak
Tre Campbell
Cameron
Hayes

I think Domingo will transfer (maybe to Washington)

This is as of right now for Butler, but they are after a couple of 2014 recruits that if they get them, they could play some minutes right away.

Starting 5:
1. Barlow
2. Dunham
3. Jones
4. Woods
5. Chrabascz

Bench:
Brown
Kelan Martin (6'6, 210 lbs FR)
Tyler Wideman (6'7, 245 lbs FR)
Aldridge

This will likely be a team with a very short bench as it was this past season. But they're after a couple of bigs as well, and while I'd guess the starting 5 won't change, it could give them some depth up front, though their frontcourt would be extremely young.

Hope you guys lock up a true PG in Tyler Lewis

Bringing in 5 Freshamn and a 7''0 transfer means early on Willard will be experimenting with line-ups. Here's my late in the season starting line-up for SHU:

Starters (3 guard line-up)
1. IW
2. Sina
3. Gibbs
4. Mobley
5. Delgado

Bench
Auda (4/5)
Manga (2/3)
Carrington (2/3)
Ish (3/4)
Ajou (5)

I think there are multiple combinations for this Xavier team, depending on who is playing well and specific matchups. This team may not have a star like Semaj, but is much deeper across all positions.

PG - Dee Davis
SG - Remy Abell
SF - Justin Martin
PF - Jalen Reynolds
C - Matt Stainbrook

6th - Trevon Bluiett
7th - JP Macura
8th - James Farr
9th - Myles Davis
10th - Brandon Randolph
11th - Sean O'Mara
12th - Edmond Sumner
13th - Makinde London

- I would absolutely not rule out Bluiett starting, potentially pushing J-Mart to the bench or to the 4 and bringing Jalen off the bench for his energy.
- Spots 7th - 13th on the bench are very close to interchangeable at this point, will be interesting the order it actually ends up in.
- Sumner and London are both potential redshirt candidates as they both need to put on some muscle and our depth might allow for the redshirt. Not saying it will happen, but wouldn't completely rule it out.
- The Xavier staff is still active on the transfer market and with incoming guard Devonte Graham. I think this indicates there may be another defection or two from the team, which would obviously shake this up.

I hope so too (and by all indications Butler's in a good spot with him), but he wouldn't be eligible until the 2015-2016 season

Given that Woods is bad and the offense pretty much as bad as it could be i think martin plays ahead of woods sooner rather than later. its a last place team without any more additions that can play next year either way but actually being able to score occasionally might make it less painful

Providence:

1 - Kris Dunn, soph rs.
2 - Josh Fortune, junior.
3 - Tyler Harris, junior.
4 - LaDontae Henton, senior.
5 - Carson Desrosiers, senior.

2-3 Jalen Lindsey, freshman.
2-3 Junior Lomomba, soph transfer.
3-4 Rodney Bullock, freshman rs.
4 - Ben Bentil, freshman.
5 - Paschal Chukwu, freshman.

Wildcard: desperately need 1 or 2 point guards in addition to Kris Dunn.
Moving on: graduates Bryce Cotton, Kadeem Batts, Ted Bancroft, Lee Goldsbrough and Brice Kofane.
All on the 2015 roster are Cooley recruits. Josh Fortune had committed under Keno Davis, but Ed had to re-recruit him after taking the PC job.

Creighton:

Starters
1 - Austin Chatman (Sr.)
2 - Isaiah Zierden (RS-So.)
3 - Leon Gilmore III (Fr.)
4 - Toby Hegner (RS-Fr.) or Ronnie Harrell (Fr.)
5 - Zach Hanson (So.)

Bench
6 - PG Devin Brooks (Sr.)
7 - SG James Milliken (RS-Jr.)
8 - SF/PF Ronnie Harrell (Fr.) or Toby Hegner (RS-Fr.)
9 - SF/SG Avery Dingman (Sr.)
10 - C/PF Will Artino (Sr.)
11 - SF/SG Darian Harris (RS-Fr.)

I expect this to be the starting lineup later in the season, not early on.
I think the OOC starting lineup will be the same as or similar to Omaha1's post.
