Coach McDermott emotional post-game speech

Postby admin » Tue Mar 25, 2014 7:12 pm

I saw this tweeted and thought it was worth adding here. Obviously very emotional saying goodbye to the seniors and Doug McDermott. Whether you're a Creighton fan or not, this reminds you what young men from all of our teams have invested in the games. Really fascinating look at the pain inside the locker room after a season ending loss.

Great coach, even better person. Personally, I've met him twice and he's a great guy. Met him initially after the game at Long Beach State and then met him again a couple months later at Georgetown and he remembered me. Very cool.

My wife was crying at the end when coach Mac tells him that he loves them. Family on 3. Nice.

A little side story between McDermott and Homer Drew right after the loss to Baylor.

Cool video. Greg McDermott has really impressed me this year. Happy he's a coach in this league.

Awesome stuff from Coach McDermott. Really happy to have him and the Creighton faithful in this league. Coach Cooley also had some good stuff to say after the Friars' loss to UNC Friday night:

Just an incredible speech. Loved his comment about Gibbs being back next year.

Easy to see why those guys played their hearts out for Ed.

Classy guy and a classy program.

I'm very pleased to have Xavier associated with Creighton.

They were fun to watch this season, except for one game in particular in Omaha.
