Would be a home run hire IMO along with Smart (whose from Wisconsin).

I don't see Smart being interested. He would probably get a $1 million raise, but he has a great gig going on at VCU, and he is probably waiting for some of the old timers in the ACC about to retire in the next 5-10 years (Coach K, Williams, Boeheim).

Having said that I would do cartwheels if Smart was hired. I think Marshall is a more realistic (yet unlikely) candidate.

I see it coming down to Howland or Wardle. Wardle is currently the favorite.

Marshall is very happy at Wichita. I doubt he is going anywhere. If he does move, MU fans better get used to becoming Juco U.

That is quite common in cases like this. They ask for a release, but will wait until a new coach is named to react.
