Looks Like Four

It looks like it will be Nova, Creighton, Xavier and Providence in the Big Dance. Five in would have been nice, but four works pretty good forvyear one, especially with a mix of the old (nova, friars) and new(x, jays). That's 40%.of the league - more than the ACC will likely wind up with. If SJU could have grabbed two more wins, we would have had five but that's why you play the games. Let's hope the Big East Four get good draws and snag at least a few wins in the Tourny.

When Seton Hall wins the auto bid, it could. Be 5. ;)

Providence is not a lock having to play Seton Hall. We may not like it, but the committee would view that as a questionable loss, and with things around like the ACC today, probably knocks them out.

I agree. I think Seton Hall beating Nova made today a must win again for Providence. Losing to Villanova would not have been a big deal. Losing to Seton Hall will be a black mark. Hope they can get it done just because I want to see four in. Either X or CU against Providence in the final will be a great game. Of course, I hope its a CU - Providence final, although not looking forward to facing Cotton again. I'm not saying Seton Hall in the finals wouldn't be good t.v. either, but I fear they would run out of legs by Saturday night and that one could turn into a snoozer if that happens.

Seton Hall just announced a home and home series with Georgia starting next year, the only BCS program to go into the conference tourney with a sub 500 overall record and then get the autobid with 4 wins in 4 days. Hell of a coincidence, or maybe a sign of things to come..

Providence already has a loss to Seton Hall on their resume (which is their worst loss according to RPI) so I really don't think another one would really change their resume. Especially since they have a win against them too, so it's not like they can't beat them.

My question is, if SHU does happen to win the tournament and become a "bid thief," would it be Providence's bid that they're stealing?

Could be. Depends on what happens with everyone else.

It would change their resume because it'd be a 2nd loss.

And yes definitely if SHU does win the tournament it would be PC's bid they steal(though if PC was already out, it'd be someone else that they'd be taking)

Could be 5 if Hall wins two more.

I'd really doubt it. I don't think Providence would get in then at all.
