The last of the quarterfinals:

Marquette vs Xavier, 9:30pm.

Big game for Xavier, which can clinch an NCAA bid with a win.
There's also no reason why Marquette can't make a run here too.

Given how the tournament has unfolded so far, this promises to be a close game. The two teams split their series this year, with X winning by 7 in Cincinnati and MU winning by 9 in Milwaukee. Neutral floor has all the makings of a nailbiter that sows the seeds for a nasty rivalry in years to come.
Al McGuire: "What is this?"
Waiter: "Mr. McGuire, that is a cull lobster. Sometimes when the lobsters are in the tank, they fight. This one lost a claw."
Al McGuire: "Well then take this one away and bring me the winner."

I think Xavier needs to win this to stay on the bubble - a loss doesn't help their case and they'd need help to get in!

This should be a fun and exciting game... I have a gut feeling that Marquette squeaks out a close 2 OT win, but personally I am hoping that X proves me wrong and takes care of business to help lock up an NCAA bid.

Looking forward to this game!

Good news for Xavier fans: Stainbrook IS available to play tonight, per Erin Andrews during the DePaul-Creighton game.

It's important that Staknbrook play well and that he do so for significant minutes - win or lose.

not a good start for Xavier. down 10-3. They definitely can't get blown out here in this situation

Wow, Gardner didn't have to flop that time, he actually got thrown.

Someone finally gave Gardner something to flop about! He flops more than most fish I've caught.

Wouldn't be a Big East Tournament game if it wasn't a nail-biter!

The people saying this has been a bad tournament so far are either bitter or clueless. Out of the first 6 games we've had 2 big upsets, a buzzer beater, 5 games decided by 5 points or less, and a record setting performance by the best player in the country.

What more can you possibly ask for!? Awesome tournament so far!
