From what I understand, Xavier/Marquette tie would be broken by record vs Creighton AND Villanova. so right now it's 0-2 vs 0-3. Xavier controls own destiny though as if both win out, vs #1 Creighton at that point(at 15-3 vs Nova 14-4)- Xavier 1-1, Marq 0-2.

Um, in your scenario wouldn't Providence and St John's be ahead of Xavier due to their win over Creighton. Xavier would be the 6 seed I think.

Um, in your scenario wouldn't Providence and St John's be ahead of Xavier due to their win over Creighton. Xavier would be the 6 seed I think.

No, not in my understanding although I certainly could be wrong. I believe that the first tie breaker in a 3-way tie breaker is the record against the other 2 opponents in the 3-way tie. Xavier is 3-1 vs PC + SJU, PC 2-2, SJU 1-3.

I agree, Steve. It should be a very interesting last 10 days of the season. What I listed was just going with the chalk, but picking the games myself, I don't think my list will in fact represents what the final standings will be. Starting with tonight's game, for example, I expect Providence to win.

This is a league of hotly contested games as we've seen in what seton Hall has done recently. Games that go down to the wire can go either way, so I'm expecting upsets and road wins to change those projected standings. This is not the AAC. All of these teams are very competitive with each other - even the ones at the bottom. And as good as Villanova and Creighton are, they both can be beaten as we've seen.

I'll say this- the standings if what either of us have would present by far worst case scenarios. I mean, 2 20 win teams heading into the BET? This type of final standings have been what I was fearing all along. No seperation from the bottom teams in the league.

Of course, the glass half full says that there are no pushovers in our league. That can't be said for all leagues (Looking at you, TCU, Virginia Tech, Washington State, and with an average RPI of 179, the entire bottom half of the AAC).

Butler and DePaul could wind up with RPI's of:
Butler 189 if they lose out, 173.5 if they lose out but beat DePaul
DePaul 177.4 if they lose out, 166 if they lose out but beat Butler
so either 173.5/177.4 or 189/166. That's kind of getting into that pushover category. Oh, and Seton Hall could be at like 144.
