Not exactly sure why the times on these games aren't flipped, but a couple of good matchups Thursday night.

#18 Creighton at Butler, 7pm, CBS-SN.
St John's at Seton Hall, 9pm, FS1.

- Butler had a tough game at home last night vs Xavier, and their schedule puts them against #18 Creighton two days later, also at Hinkle.
- Creighton lost a close one Sunday night at MSG vs torrid St John's. After Butler Thursday, the Jays face Villanova at home on Sunday.
- St John's is climbing in the standings and the RPI. Since Sunday's win, they've climbed to 61 in the RPI based on losses from Ole Miss, FSU and others. The hottest team in the conference, playing with a chip on their shoulder, and heading across to Newark to face Seton Hall. It's a 9pm start, but it would be great to see a packed house in this local rivalry game.
- Seton Hall had a 7 point lead late last night vs Marquette, but MU went on an 11-0 run and held the lead from there.

St John's game to me is kind of a defining game for them. How St John's would it be for them to have beaten Creighton, with a huge game vs Georgetown on Sunday, to fall in a game in between vs a team they should beat fairly easily? But, if they come in and blow the Pirates out, that to me is quite a statement.

Of course, another story with this could very easily be the snow. Would not be shocked at all to see that game postponed.

I highly doubt it will be postponed. They are very close to each other and if they really needed to they could take the PATH there. Don't know when they could even play a make up game since they both have two games a week already lined up for the rest of the season.

With 6-10 inches of snow coming and a nor` easter, I doubt it will be a packed house.

I really hate to say it but I think we lose this one to SHU. For some reason we can never win in that building. I think it's been 15 years since we last beat them there. Some crazy stat. It's an obvious trap game. I love SJU but if I've learned anything about the teams I root for, it's not to hold my breath. It's a real shame because we started the season as bad as you possibly can at 0-5. We lost absolute heartbreakers vs. PSU, DePaul, and PC. Man, if we could have those games back. We'd be firmly in 3rd place talking about being a good shot for an at large this early. If SJU goes onto the NCAA tourney by some grace of god, it might be the most incredible feat I've ever witnessed in NY sports. The key is to make sure we beat the SHU/Marquette/Butler's and win at least 1 of G'Town/Nova. If we beat G'town as well as the other teams lower than them AND knock off Nova, I will have to believe I'm dead and went to heaven.

Here's to hoping for a miracle run but I still think the hole we dug was just too deep early on. It always comes back to bite you. This will be an NIT team as much as I hate to say it. I was right about thinking we'd beat 1 of Nova or Creighton. I was right about PC fading. I hope I'm not right about SJU losing a few games to lower teams.

Well, this is where SJU can't mess up. They dug their hole already. This is the type of game they could afford to lose had they beaten Penn State or DePaul. Can't afford another sub-100 RPI loss, and it would leave the Johnnies with 2 road wins all year with Villanova and Marquette its only remaining chances at winning away from home.

You are the worst SJU fan i've ever met. It's called faith in your team, you seem to have very little of it. You were off the wagon from the get go, bashing Lavin and now you don't even think we can win this game. It isn't over yet and here you are giving up. Support your team and your school until they are actually out of it.

Since they have a shot at making the tournament and I don't want St. John's to be even more out for blood nor do I want Seton Hall to have any more confidence going into their game with us.

This game is more important then the Creighton game to me, because we all knew that they`d be up for #12 Creighton.
I want to see where their heads are at, will they be full of themselves with winning 6 of last 7, or will they be business like and do what they need to do to beat SHU.
At 5-6 in the B.E. they have noright to over look anyone.

Now to hooligan.
I believe the juniors played G-Town 5 times and lost all by double digits.
If they beat SHU or not, it shouldn`t matter. They need to be up for Sunday night.
