*2014 THREAD* - If the Big East Tourney started today...

Georgetown v Butler
St. Johns v DePaul

Creighton v GT/Butler
Villanova v STJ/DPU
Providence v Marquette
Xavier v Seton Hall

Where would the upsets be? HIGHLY unlikely the results would go by form. Or would the top 4 seeds advance to the finals?

PC can't beat Marquette so that's an "upset"

Although I hope the Johnnies get out of the bottom 4, that would not be a bad draw. DePaul should be a win, especially at MSG, and Nova is not a bad matchup for us.

There's a guy on the old MVCfans.com site who ran statistical probablities for the site which was fun to monitor. Maybe someone can do that here?

Just a guess, but I'll go out on a limb and say in St. John fans eyes, no team in the BE is a bad match-up for them.

matchups wrong...
1 Creighton vs 8 St John's/9 DePaul
4 Xavier vs 5 Marquette
2 Villanova vs 7 Georgetown/10 Butler
3 Providence vs 6 Seton Hall

Marquette gets 5 seed due to head to head win vs Seton Hall
Georgetown gets 7 seed due to head to head win vs St John's
DePaul gets 9 seed due to head to head win vs Butler

I think our toughest matchups are 1. Creighton, 2. Georgetown, 3. Xavier, 4. Nova, 5. Providence...

You lost all credibility there. Would rather play Gtwn and XU more than Nova? OK. Something tells me you'll get your wish with SJU needing a win to get into the tourney and you'll get absolutely spanked on your home court in the BET.

Really, any fans questioning either Nova or CU this year makes me laugh.

Georgetown routinely kicks our ass. Psychologically, they have a big advantage every time we play them. I still think Nova is a bit weak in the frontcourt. If the guards are hitting 3's, you guys beat us. If they aren't, then I don't think your front court is gonna beat us. Pinkston is good but a bit overrated by Nova fans.

Hey everyone is entitled to their own opinions on these message boards, but as an outsider to our program you probably have not seen how much Ochefu has developed as this season has progressed. He has been a monster for is in the last several games and just seems to be getting better and better in all facets of his game. And in terms of Pinkston he a big reason why our shooters can get so many open looks.
