Bizarre for a Big East team

The Big East has always just been about winning your home games. Very difficult to get results on the road, no matter who you are. Somehow, the script seems to have gotten flipped on Seton Hall this year- who's played reasonably well on every floor except their own. Just look at some of the results.

Home:
4 pt loss to FDU
3 pt OT loss to SPU
13 pt loss to Creighton
16 pt loss to Villanova
7 pt loss to Butler

Away from home (road and neutral court)
3 pt OT loss to Mercer
1 pt loss to Oklahoma
1 pt win over Virginia Tech
1 pt OT win over Providence
1 pt loss to Marquette
10 pt win over Georgetown
1 pt loss to St. John's

At home, they've got some really bad losses and some losses to good teams, but where they weren't nearly as competitive as they should have been. Away from home however, they've got some solid wins (their top 3 wins are all away from home) and have yet to lose by more than 1 point in regulation.

Why can't the Pirates play their game at the Prudential Center?

Maybe it's because they play in front of bigger crowds on the road than at home? Some players get motivated playing in hostile atmosphere, to large crowds, or like to step up in the face of adversity. Maybe just a lack of focus at home too...perhaps it's too comfortable at home.

I agree. There is no juice in that building. I've been to many games at the Rock and previously only the games against Rutgers, UConn and Syracuse attracted lively crowd.

There were more seats dressed with white shirts than people there yesterday.

There will be kids in Africa rocking Seton Hall swag soon!

The crowd did seem about the size of a middle school game. That sucks for those players. Hopefully they attract a better audience with the talent coming in.

Game time was 9 pm. People with kids and those who commute to the city for work are going to have a tough time making a game at that time. I never miss a home game but my situation is different I guess.

So after a midweek home loss to Butler, the Pirates make Xavier their latest road scalp. This season could be completely different for the Seton Hall if our fans could even give them a halfway decent home court advantage.

I dont think things would be any different. Seton Hall is just too inconsistent. Look at our Big East record following wins and loses. Having more fans at the game wont change that

Yeah, having fans watch your games is overrated.
